Service Description
Among the Q’ero of Peru, a despacho ceremony creates a beautiful mandala made of an assortment of natural materials. It is a form of Ayni or reciprocity with each other and with the earth and with spirit above. Through prayers and offerings, it brings balance to our lives and creates relationship with all that surrounds us. If you have an area of your life that needs transformation, a despacho can help to usher in change. Despacho ceremonies can also be done to express gratitude. The ceremony can be performed with one person or with any size group. Participants are often asked to bring a specific natural item to add to the despacho, and participants are also involved through prayers and stories as the mandala is created. When complete, the despacho is used to cleanse each participant, and then it is either burned or buried. In that way, the transformation continues.
