    About the event

    WHAT WILL WE DO?

Among the Q’ero of Peru, a despacho ceremony creates a beautiful mandala made of an assortment of natural materials. A despacho is created as a form of Ayni or reciprocity with each other and with the earth and with spirit above. It brings balance to our lives and creates relationship with all that surrounds us.

Together, we will create a despacho of gratitude and balance - perfect for the day of equinox where light and dark are in balance. Through the ceremony, we will offer prayers for ourselves, for others and for the earth. Imagine it as a gathering of our thankfulness.

We will align ourselves to the season, we will call the directions, and we will share our prayers as we create.

The ceremony will take place outdoors, and ends with offering the despacho to the fire.

    WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?

    • When you RSVP, you will be asked to bring a specific item needed to help create the despacho.
    • A lawn chair and clothing suitable for being outdoors.
    • A clear glass for the ceremonial beverages.
    • A rattle, if you have one.
    • A simple edible to share for the fellowship time after.
    • A donation of $5-10 for reciprocity for the facilitator.

RSVP REQUIRED:  please RSVP by using the contact page if you plan to attend. Space maybe limited.

Looking forward to celebrating with you!
